I think Jeff and I both have what one of my friends described as “senior-itis”. It’s like being in your senior year of high school and knowing that the next big adventure is out there waiting, but it seems like it will never come. We are both committed and anxious (in good and bad ways) to begin our next adventure. But we live here in the present… anticipating.

I’m facilitating the Way of Discernment small group at church and it recommends appreciating the gifts offered to us in the waiting. I recognize what a healthy perspective that is, but still have a difficult time embracing it. My hope is that the trip in February will help. We will meet the people who will become friends, worship in the churches that will become our new faith community, and set foot in the country that will be our home.

In the meantime, we have cleaned out the attic and sold or donated all the baby stuff that lingered there. We have returned borrowed items that filled the garage. We have hired a painter to touch up the house and make it appealing to a new home owner, cleaned up the yard, talked to a financial planner, talked to each other and prayed to God. Jeff has ordered books to read about ending Global Poverty – I mean, we’ll be there for a whole year. How hard can it be?

We continue to covet your prayers as we live into – and wait for – the next stage of our journey.

Hi ,I’m Claire my family is going to Africa .I am REALLY excited about it .I think it is going to be a grate experience.
