Amidst “the forest of my own wanderings’
I see the path that has brought me here –
beautiful, manicured and solid.
I have walked with giants and saints,
who have inspired me to seek more.
I stand in a clearing now
as if at the heart of God.
I bask in the holy stillness,
uncertain of the next step,
But certain that the path
No longer meanders, but strides
into the future.
Lord, grant me humility to embrace
a path I did not choose
To view obedience as illumination
To walk with confidence this life of
In order to be transformed
into the likeness of Christ.
